Ambiguous Floaters

So… yeah. I did sew actually. I made a shirt, or most of one.

Unfortunately, this was one of those wonderful projects that starts out meaning well and just doesn’t quite make it. These projects love to haunt me. They are never costumes (at least, not usually), but are almost always “modern” clothing. They start with a good pattern, a good idea, and good fabric, and half way through they become… not good. Which is very ambiguous, I know, but that’s how they end up. Ambiguous Floaters. Until I finally get up the gumption to actually finish them, and after that they are usually salvageable, or even downright nice. So when I get up the gumption to finish this project (give me a week or two, it’ll happen), I’ll actually post some pictures!

Guilty as charged.

Not only did I not take the intended pictures of fabric, but I didn’t even cut out the pattern. I did wash one of the fabrics, so not a total waste, but I got stuck on deciding which pattern to use. These are the two I got yesterday:

And I got some extremely lovely fabric to go with them. Now I have only to decide which fabric goes with which top! Ah, decisions.

I am NOT stash-busting

Today I spent a large amount of money on too much fabric that will make some completely lovely new summer outfits! I got enought for three shirts, a skirt, and various and sundry reenacting clothing, patterns, etc. I shall try to post pictures and whatnot tomorrow, as well as get started on one or two of the shirts….
